DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES FOR SUPPORT STAFF FOR THE ADVENT OF THE ASEAN COMMUNITY; FACULTY OF TROPICAL MEDICINE, MAHIDOL UNIVERSITY

This research on development strategies for supportive staff for the advent of the ASEAN Community, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Medicine, Mahidol University is a case study, qualitative research composed with objectives to study the faculty's external and internal environment in order to reveal the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat onward to the ASEAN Community. The second aim to synthesize development strategies, which are meant to prepare the Faculty's staff once ASEAN occurs. Research findings show that the key-informants have some magnitude on organizing environments in common; there are 4 issues on strengths, 4 issues on weakness, 4 issues on opportunity, and 4 issues on threat. After the researcher recovered important qualities from the external and internal organizing environment, the researcher pared them in order to synthesize HR development strategies in accordance with TOWS Matrix. There is a matching approach strategic cluster: Agreement on networking for coordination and exchange. Furthermore, there are 2 covering approach strategic clusters: Career path and HR development, and Organization engagement and HR maintenance. Lastly, there is an off-set approach strategic cluster: English and 3rd language communication skill development.
