ความต้องการศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาตรี ในหลักสูตรนานาชาติของนักเรียนในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่

Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาตรีในหลักสูตรนานาชาติของนักเรียนในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ กลุ่มตัวอย่างถูกเลือกโดยวิธีแบบเจาะจง ได้แก่ นักเรียน Grades 12 ซึ่งเป็นนักเรียนในโรงเรียนนานาชาติ จำนวน 1 แห่ง คือ นักเรียนโรงเรียนอเมริกันแปซิฟิกส์ อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล จำนวน 35 คน และนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายหลักสูตร English Program ที่เรียนในโรงเรียน จำนวน 6 แห่ง คือ โรงเรียนยุพราชวิทยาลัย จำนวน 40 คน โรงเรียนดาราวิทยาลัย จำนวน 45 คน โรงเรียนวัฒโนทัยพายัพ จำนวน 130 คน โรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ จำนวน 93 คน โรงเรียนมงฟอร์ตวิทยาลัย จำนวน 46 คน โรงเรียนปรินส์รอยแยลส์วิทยาลัย จำนวน 90 คน รวมจำนวนกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ทั้งสิ้น 479 คน โดยได้ทำการสำรวจค้นหาข้อมูลโรงเรียนที่เปิดสอนระดับ Grades 12 และโรงเรียนที่เปิดสอนหลักสูตร English Program ในเขตอำเภอเมือ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่  เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถามความต้องการศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาตรีในหลักสูตรนานาชาติของนักเรียนในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ (Chiang Mai students’ need for further study in international undergraduate programs) จำนวน 479 ชุด นำข้อมูลที่ได้จากกลุ่มตัวอย่างมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติวิเคราะห์การแจกแจงความถี่และร้อยละ

            ผลการวิจัยพบว่าหลักสูตรนานาชาติ จำนวน 14 สาขา ที่นักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่สนใจศึกษาต่อในระดับปริญญาตรีมากที่สุด คือ สาขาวิชาการจัดการท่องเที่ยวคิดเป็นร้อยละ 9.40 รองมาสาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 8.35 และสาขาวิชาการตลาด คิดเป็นร้อยละ 8.35

            ปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการตัดสินใจของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่เลือกศึกษาต่อหลักสูตรนานาชาติ ได้แก่ การใช้เทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัยประกอบการเรียนการอสอนการวิจัย คิดเป็นร้อยละ 35.91 การเปิดหลักสูตรที่หลากหลายให้เลือกเรียน การบริการและจัดสวัสดิการที่ดีสำหรับนักศึกษา และมหาวิทยาลัยมีแหล่งศึกษาค้นคว้าที่มีความพร้อมและนำเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัยมาใช้สืบค้นข้อมูล คิดเป็นร้อยละ 34.86 และการสนับสนุนทุนการศึกษา คิดเป็นร้อยละ 33.61 บุคคลที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการตัดสินใจในการเลือกเรียนต่อหลักสูตรนานาชาติ คือ ตัวนักเรียนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 43.63 และผู้ปกครอง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 33.19

Abstract

            This research aims at investigation the factors influencing Chiang Mai students’ needs for further study in international undergraduate programs. The sample groups by purposive method used in this study consists of the students in grade 12: 35 students in American Pacific International School, and high school students who were studying in 6 schools in Chiang Mai including 40 students of Yupparaj Wittayalai School, 45 students of Dara Academy, 130 students of Wattanothai Payap School, 93 students of Chiang Mai University Demonstration School, 46 students of Montfort College and 90 students of the Prince Royal’s College, totally 479 students. The data were collected via 479 Chiang Mai students’ need for further study in international undergraduate programs questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by using frequency and percentage.

            For 14 international undergraduate programs, the findings showed that 9.40 percent of the students were interested in the programs in Tourism Management, 8.35 percent in English, and 8.35 percent in Marketing, respectively.

            The influencing factors on high school students’ decision making for further study in international program in Chiang Mai were as follows:

            The use of new education and research technology was one of the highy influenced factors; it was calculated as 35.91 percent. Other influencing factors included, the variety of offered programs (34.86 percent), services and welfare for students (35 percent), academic and research resources with hi-tech information searching facility (34.86 percent), and the scholarship (33.16 percent).

            Regarding the study on person influencing the students’ decision making for choosing an international program, it was found that 43.63 percent of the students would make a decision for further study themselves, and 33.19 percent of the parents factor would influence in making decision for their children.
