Survey of Stress and Causes of Stress in Drugstore Entrepreneur: Case Study in Samuthprakarn Province, Thailand

Abstract

Introduction:The purpose of this research is tosurvey of stress, cause of stress and coping of stress in drugstore entrepreneur, in Samuthprakarn Province. Method: This research is a qualitative research. Data from 132 informants were collected with questionnaire by mail and 15 informants were collected by in-depth interviews with semi-structured questionnaires during March to September 2017. Results: The first step was to collect data with questionnaire by the post office. There were 59 respondents (44.70%). From using the Self-Assessment and Self-Stress Analysis of The mental health department, Ministry of Public Health found that there was a higher level of stress over a small amount of 20 and there was moderate to high stress amount of 5. Causes of stress are mainly caused by external factors. (Environment) more than other factors. Step 2 from in-dept interview from 15 informants found main cause of stress in drugstore entrepreneur is the change Rules of Laws. In particular, the law related to the provision of pharmaceutical care. In the minor, the results of the work and stability of work. The coping strategies of stress in drugstore entrepreneur to be found accept the reality of the problems and finding methods and actions to solve the problem was coping strategies of stress a focus on solving the most used. In the minor, the pursuit of social support usually talking to people who helped to see the problem clearly consult the instructions to resolve the issue with the person who has previous experience in the same issue. To find out more information to solve the problem. Part of coping strategies of stress avoid the problem was the least used or not used at all. It will not tackle the causes of stress. Also accumulated stress without knowing it. Making it feel like to be under pressure all the time and unable to do things more efficiently or unhappy in daily life. Conclusion: Stress arising from causes and factors of similarity. The majority is caused by external environment, such as the problems of working regulation in the law. And coping methods used most is to focus on problem solving. Can be a guideline for use in stress management appropriately. As to use as a guideline in the assembly planning process. Prevention and correction of problems including stress coping manner to continue business community pharmacy in the future.
