Abstract

This study aimed 1) to find out meaning, antecedents and development approach to the development of Health Promotion Behavior at work among Royal Thai Air Force Personnel. The qualitative research using case study technique was employed in this study. The key informants were 15 personnel, working as manager, by rank from Wing Commander to Air Vice Marshal from 7 directorates of The Royal Thai Air Force Support Group which all of them has good quality of Health Promotion Behavior at work. Data were collected through personal interviews. The study found that the meaning of Health Promotion Behavior is to do the activities at work and in day life for making one own having good physical, mental, social and spiritual health. These will lead to the efficiency and quality of performing at work. The antecedents of the health promotion behavior comprise of 1. health motivation 2. self-compassion 3. self-efficacy and 4. self-regulation. There are 2 development approaches. The first one is personal development approach divided into physical development, mental development and the management of environment and system at work. The other one is organization development divided into environmental development, leader and subordinate development and policy development.
