บทคัดย่อ
        อาการนอนไม่หลับเป็นอาการที่สำคัญที่พบได้ในโรคซึมเศร้า อาการนอนไม่หลับในผู้สูงอายุโรคซึมเศร้า มักจะมีลักษณะของการเข้านอนเร็วแต่หลับยาก ตื่นนอนกลางดึกแล้วหลับต่อยากตื่นเร็วหรือตื่นเช้ากว่าปกติ ตื่นขึ้นมาแล้วไม่สดชื่นอาการเหล่านี้ส่งผลต่อการดำเนินชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในตอนกลางวัน เกิดความทุกข์ทรมาน นำมาสู่ความรุนแรงและการกลับเป็นซ้ำของโรคซึมเศร้า ทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้อง ได้แก่ ทฤษฎีปัจจัย 3 P ของสปิลแมนทฤษฎีวงจรการนอนไม่หลับและทฤษฎีบูรณาการเป็นทฤษฎีที่อธิบายสาเหตุ ปัจจัย การจัดการกับอาการนอนไม่หลับ ผลกระทบของอาการนอนไม่หลับของบุคคล รวมทั้งการพัฒนาแนวทางการบำบัดอาการนอนไม่หลับในผู้สูงอายุโรคซึมเศร้าที่เน้นการปรับเปลี่ยนความคิด ความเชื่อ และพฤติกรรมเกี่ยวกับการนอนหลับ รวมทั้งการประเมินอาการนอนไม่หลับสามารถประเมินได้จากเครื่องมือวัดและแบบบันทึกอาการนอนหลับ
