Abstract

Nowadays, the tourism is huge industry and it grows rapidly, which has major role in Thailand’s


economy for long time. In addition, it brings in an enormous amount of money from others countries.


Thailand is still being famous continually for the tourists all around the world by the diversity of nature and cultures. Thailand has been especially known as a country where there are many Buddhist temples.


Therefore, they are the best cultural tourist spot. From the rapid growth of the tourism industry during these years, it causes impacts both positively and negatively to the cultural heritages; especially the invisible cultural heritages which the impact evaluation is difficult. The articles on impacts of religious tourism on the intangible heritages within temples includes (1) The impacts on the society of the temples that become a tourist attraction to tourists who travel to our country more and more; especially the foreign tourists, who bring western culture into temples and Thai society which causes the role of the temples differently from the past. (2) The impacts on the environment around the temples from the management of the temples as a tourist attraction brings travellers into the temple whom use of public utilities and cause the environment of the temples become deteriorated, and (3) The impacts on monks, the temples had been managed as a tourist attraction that brings civilization eventually and more which changes the monks role to involve more commercially.
