Abstract

This article as a part of the research aims to study stakeholders’ requirements toward the
desirable characteristics of graduates from MID. Stakeholders, the population in the research, are graduates’
employers, graduates from year 2010-2014, present master degree students and lectures in MID. The data
were collected by questionnaires, a focus group interview and one-to-one interviews.The researcher found
that 4 desirable characteristics of graduates agreed by all stakeholders relate to 1) research thinking:
analysis and synthesis thinking toward conclusion of design requirements,2) industrial design: principles,
concepts and design practices, 3) research for product design: applying research into product design, and 4)
design management: business planning and branding for products.
