Effects of Group Counseling to Reduce Alcohol Drinking Behaviors Among Persons with Alcohol Dependence

Abstract

The quasi-experimental research aimed to study effect of group counseling program to reduce alcohol drinking behaviors in person with alcohol dependence. Sample was 20 alcohol dependence persons who met inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Repeated Measures ANOVA. Results showed that alcohol dependence persons who attended the program at least 2 times, had significant different in alcohol drinking behaviors (p< 0.05). The group counseling program can
be used to reduce alcohol drinking behaviors in alcohol dependence persons.
