The Policy of Health Behavioral Modification Village and Diabetes Prevention and Control in case of Chum Phae District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

Diabetes is the major health problem of The world including Thailand, which tends to increase steadily. The objectives of this study were to study the prevention and control of diabetes and the implementation of the village health behavior policy In Chum Phae district, Khon Kaen province. The data were collected by means of a review of the documents and related literature and then compiled the ranking content, presentation, performance conforming to modify health behavior policy.


The results showed that: the policy of Health Behavioral Modification village and diabetes prevention, control in case of Chum Phae district, Khon Kaen still unfulfilled, such as; Health Behavioral Modification village passed the standard criteria only 34.70 percents. The rate of glucose control in diabetic patients with only 22.62 percent and people aged 35 years and over to detect the risk of diabetes as high as 18.07 percent. Thus, the study proposes guidelines for Health Behavioral Modification village to achieve as follows; Set out in the Strategic Plan of Chum Phae, Targeting the development of village health behavior modification to all villages and communities within four years, Promoting public participation and partnership networks in villages and communities, Encourage village and communities defined rules conducive to healthy behavior modification, Define system monitoring, evaluation and using assessment results to support the morale of the personnel working in the area.
