Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to construct and identify the effectiveness Index of Computer Courseware using K-W-D-L technique to enhance Mathematics problem solving ability on ratios and percentages for Grade VIII Students, 2) to compare the mathematics problem solving ability before and after learning with Computer Courseware, and 3) to study students satisfaction towards the Computer Courseware, the research procedure comprised with 3 steps of research and development were as follow: The first step was constructed and identified the effectiveness index of Computer Courseware using K-W-D-L technique to enhance Mathematics problem solving ability on ratios and percentages for Grade VIII. Construct 3 units of leaning Activities were Ratios, Proportion, Percentages and then inspected its quality by 5 experts to examine the appropriate of Computer Courseware and then try out with Grade VIII students following effectiveness index. The instruments of the research were Computer Courseware using K-W-D-L technique and the evaluation forms. The second step, compared the mathematics problem solving ability on ratios and percentages for Grade VIII students learning by Computer Courseware the sample group was 36 Grade VIII students in first semester, academic year 2015 at Banhindatratbumrung School. Instruments of the research was mathematics problem solving ability test. The third step, was studied students satisfaction towards the Computer Courseware from the satisfaction form take the evaluation after learning Computer Courseware. The results were as follows:
1. Computer Courseware using Computer Courseware using K-W-D-L technique to enhance Mathematics problem solving ability on ratios and percentages for Grade VIII Students, consisted of 4 steps: were step1 K – What we know, step 2 W – What we want to know, step 3 D – What we do to find out, and step 4 L – What we learned. The effectiveness index of Computer Courseware was 0.74 and appropriate at the highest level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 4.55, S.D. = 0.52).
2. The mathematics problem solving ability for Grade VIII students was higher than before learning with Computer Courseware using K-W-D-L at the significance level of .01. The students’ satisfaction towards the Computer Courseware using K-W-D-L technique to enhance Mathematics problem-solving ability on ratios and percentages for Grade VIII Students, was at the highest level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 4.92, S.D. = 0.25).
