การตั้งคำถามได้ตรงเป้าและดี สำคัญกว่าคำตอบที่ยอดเยี่ยม; Asking a Pertinent and Good Question is More Important Than an Excellent Answer

บทคัดย่อ

เราคงคุ้นเคยกับวลีทองคำขาวของวงการวิจัยที่ว่า “ป้อนขยะเข้าไป ก็จะได้ผลผลิตแบบขยะออกมา" แต่โดยทั่วไปมักจะหมายถึงแค่การป้อนข้อมูลที่ไม่ได้สาระ ก็จะได้ผลการคำนวณที่ไร้ความหมาย แต่ความจริงแล้วน่าจะรวมความไปถึง การตั้งโจทย์วิจัยที่แย่ ก็จะได้ผลการวิจัยไม่ได้เป็นประโยชน์ด้วย รวมความแล้วสรุปได้ว่า “ตั้งคำถามแบบไหน ก็จะได้คำตอบแบบนั้น” นั้นเอง บทความนี้ตั้งใจจะชี้ให้เห็นความสำคัญของการตั้งคำถาม มากกว่าการจดจำคำตอบ หรือคำอธิบาย และในมุมที่กว้างขึ้นก็คือเราควรสอนให้ผู้เรียนมีนิสัยใฝ่รู้ ขี้สงสัย และตั้งคำถาม หรือมีจิตใฝ่รู้มากกว่าการสอนที่เน้นเนื้อหาสาระและการท่องจำ และหวังว่าบทความนี้จะนำไปสู่การเปลี่ยนแปลงวิธีคิดและการเตรียมความพร้อมลูกหลานของเราเพื่อการงานและการดำรงชีวิตไม่มากก็น้อย
