Abstract

The purpose of experimental research was to compare pain intensity among mothers in frst stage of labour before and after pain relieved with breathing techniques, abdominal effeurage and sacrum massage at Nawa Hospital, Nakhon Phanom Province. The researcher divided the samples into three groups and there were nineteen in each group. Data collected include pain relief in frst stage of labour handbook, basic demographic information, present pain intensity.The data were analyzed by Wilcoxon matched pairs singed rank test, Kruskal Wallis One-Way Analysis of Variance and Chi-square. The results of this study were follow: The median of present pain intensity scores within and between three groups at before and after experiment were not signifcantly different at level .05 and the proportion of mothers who were pain relieved in three groups after experiment were not signifcantly different at level .05.
