Abstract

The purpose of this independent study was to result for vocational rehabilitation for schizophrenia patientsin community : a case study at Ban Nongloub Tumbon Dangyai Amphur Muang Khon kaen Province. Thetarget populations were 4 schizophrenia patients in community participated in 8 weeks vocational rehabilitationprogram. The study was conducted between October 6,  2008 and November 30,  2008. The Libermanûs(1992), community participation, milieu therapy and vocational rehabilitation concepts of vocational rehabilitationfor schizophrenia patients in community were used. Instruments included Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was used as a criteria for obtaining the studyparticipants, Patientûs Assessment for Psychiatric Rehabilitation of the Sritanya Hospital (2004), RosenbergSelf- Esteem Scale (RSE) modified by Pongsri Srimorakot (1993) and Somdet Chaopraya Institue of Psychiatryquestionnaire (2004).The study results indicated that vocational rehabilitation program by community owner business participation.Four patients had improved on capacity score but only one patient did not improve capacity level.  Lastly fourpatients had improved on of self-esteem score.
