บทคัดย่อ

Teenage pregnancy (age 10-19 year old) is a health problem as most of them are unexpected pregnancy with high complications during pregnancy and labour. It is interested to study teenage pregnant in comparison with adult pregnant (age 20-35 year old) which are mature for pregnancy to see the difference in risks. The study was one year retrospective case-control study between October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008 in mother age under 35 year old who were delivered in Chaoprayayomraj hospital. Data were described and analysed with chi-square test and fisher-exact test. Using statistical different at p-value < 0.05 and odd ratio (OR) at 95% confidence interval (95% Cl). There were 524 teenage pregnants and 2,154 adult pregnants in this study. The different in number of ANC, anemia, preterm delivery, CPD, abnormal delivery and infant weight parameters between teenage and adult pregnants were statistical different at p-value < 0.05. Other parameters were not statistical different. The result of this study can be used for managed teenage pregnancy ANC. These teenage problems can be corrected by ANC quality and standard active labour care.
