Methods: A retrospective study based on recruitment time, passing probation rate, first-year performance score and first-year resignation rate using percentages, median, standard deviations, t-test analysis, Mann-Whitney U-test and Chi-square test with 2,127 new personnel sample size.
Results: 1) The performance of the Faculty. The median recruitment time was 86 days, with a 99.4% passing probation rate. The recruitment time of Human Resources Department and other units/departments within the Faculty were significantly different at the 0.05 level. The Human Resources Department had more time than other
units/departments within the Faculty in recruiting personnel with diplomas from middle-high schools and vocational-high schools. As for personnel with bachelor's degree and higher level of education, the recruitment time was not different. The passing probation rate, first-year performance score and first-year resignation rate of Human Resources Department's new hires and other units' were not different.
Conclusion: The Human Resources Department is aware of the results of its previous recruiting and selecting process; it should make some adjustments to reduce the recruitment time and set up a mentor system for new personnel to help increase performance score and reduce resignation rate for the first year.
