การขาดการรู้สารสนเทศสุขภาพ: ปัญหาของผู้ปฏิบัติงานห้องสมุด และบทบาทของบรรณารักษ์ต่อการสอนการรู้สารสนเทศสุขภาพ

การขาดการรู้สารสนเทศสุขภาพเป็นสาเหตุสำคัญที่ส่งผลต่อการดูแลสุขภาพและเปลี่ยนแปลงพฤติกรรมเพื่อให้มีสุขภาพดีปัจจุบัน บรรณารักษ์ นักสารสนเทศ หรือคนที่ทำงานเกี่ยวข้องกับเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศต้องสัมผัสกับสภาพแวดล้อมที่มีผลร้ายต่อสุขภาพ ทำให้เจ็บป่วยหรือเสียชีวิตดังนั้นจึงควรใส่ใจต่อสุขภาพของตนเอง เรียนรู้และฝึกปฏิบัติเพื่อป้องกันและรักษาสุขภาพให้แข็งแรงอยู่เสมอ โดยสามารถค้นหาข้อมูลได้จากแหล่งสารสนเทศสุขภาพที่มีหลากหลาย ดังตัวอย่างซึ่งสามารถนำไปปฏิบัติได้ ดังนี้ 1) เออร์โกโนมิกส์ (Ergonomics) 2) กายบริหารสร้างสมดุล 3) ท่วงท่าในการใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ 4) การดูแลดวงตาอันมีค่า ทั้งนี้พบว่า เนื่องจากบรรณารักษ์มีความเชี่ยวชาญในการเข้าถึงแหล่งสารสนเทศสุขภาพและการประเมินสารสนเทศสุขภาพ ทำให้มีบทบาทโดดเด่นในการสอนการรู้สารสนเทศสุขภาพ เป็นที่ยอมรับและส่งผลต่อภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีของวิชาชีพ
