The previous wellbeing measurement aimed at indicating an individual one. Community wellbeing measurement still needs improving. The purpose of this article is to study meanings and develop wellbeing indicators of rural communities in the northeast of Thailand, a case study of rural communities in Khon Kaen province. Qualitative research and literature review were employed in this research. Data collecting were 6 focus group discussion 35 people and in-depth interviews with 30 local people in the 3 rural communities. Data analysis was content analysis. The results revealed that meanings of wellbeing varied in dimensions such as economic, society, environment, and health, and prioritized people’s relationships. Also, community wellbeing indicators were divided into 4 categories which are; 1) objective community wellbeing, 2) community trust, 3) community security and 4) community strength, and 35 indicators.
